Need a rib tutorial that actually works.

Keep trying rib tutorials but none actually work. I select the plane same direction as the rib (see rib1), but there are no snap icons and the lines I do draw are well offset from the planes (see rib2 and rib3).

There has got to be a pre-requisite for the snap icons but none of the tutorial match it. What is missing here?

    You need to use a sketch plane that matches your rib, of course, at least for your first rib. Then:

    Learning the mate connector in sketch mode can save making a new plane in the feature list by picking up a mid point. The mate connector is fully adjustable as needed.

    Then continue as Martin noted.
