Simulate a rotation of another part/shape for an extrude

in Drawings
This seems like it will be simple to do, but I could not find a post describing exactly this. I would like to sweep a profile of one part across a defined rotation (angular range around a specific point), then extrude that swept 3d space from another part:
My first step was using the Sweep tool, but this nearly always results in a self-intersection error.
Any ideas for a better way to implement this?
Thank you!

Revolve sounds like the tool you are looking for. but I'm not clear on what exactly you are trying to do from the pictures. Also working with mesh files like the one you are displaying can be challenging depending on what you need to do.
Try drawing rectangle on the bottom face of the pocket, then revolve that. Sweep or revolve profiles must start roughly perpendicular to the path that they are going to take. What you are trying to do would be more of a 3d sweep or a Body Sweep, which we do have with some custom features by @Konst_Sh, but the feature can be a bit difficult to use.
You can also draw the start position and end position in a sketch then enclose the entire path and simply do an extrude of the path region. This is what I usually do.

Tip:
Use the sketch circular pattern to pattern the start shape to the end position.
