Bumping this thread to show more interest, I am learning Onshape as a SW-trained engineer for personal maker projects, but I know that MCAD Co-Designer is used extensively at my company as well!

The topic came up today (part of our company still uses SW, including Codesigner), I did mention it was "being worked on" but I would be interested in joining the Early Visibility group if that's possible so I can have a more complete answer next time it comes up…)
