Custom Post Processors

I run an older Matsuura with a Yasnac controller. It would be really nice if you could allow users to upload a custom post-processor. As of now CAM is useless to me because of my old machine.

The ability to easily customize posts would also be handy for accomodating possible controller upgrades, like TCPC or probing. I hope that Onshape is at least considering making it possible for users to tweak a post. Even better would be a way to create one from scratch.
Please feel free to submit a support ticket with your machine information and we'll add the request to our list. Currently we do not have a way for end users to define their own machines/posts but it is on our radar for a future update to CAM.
Thanks for the feedback. I just submitted a ticket.
I'm currently on the free plan, so no access to support tickets from what I can see. I'm considering an upgrade to the Pro plan if the machines I have are supported - how can I suggests machines to the CAM Studio folks?
We are evaluating Onshape and in many ways are banking on its CAM features. Not having control over the post-processor would be a major drawback - possibly a deal breaker. Our wish is that it would use Fusion 360's approach (cps files), allowing us to script the entire post-processor configuration on any machine.
We are waiting for this feature too. We have a Mecanumeric CNC machine, so we have to export our Onshape CAD designs and switch to Fusion 360 every time we want to produce a part since it is not in the default list of supported machines… I opened a ticket though (ticket: #387081), I hope my request can be treated promptly. Cheers
Please report back here on the help you receive about this. Perhaps Onshape CAM Studio is supported better than the traffic on the forum would suggest.
Just adding on to this thread. Ideally, we could use Feature Script to author a custom post processor. It's already built in to Onshape so seems like a no-brainer. That would be the coolest thing in the world if Feature Script could be used to write a custom post-processor. FYI @dave_lapthorne.
