Double Emails for Release Management?

S1monS1mon Member Posts: 3,460 PRO

We have some questions into support about this, but I'm wondering if others out there are getting two emails for each release approval request and release acknowledgment?

Is there something wrong with our workflow?

We apparently had a "email user" and "notify user" step in our workflow. Is this the issue? Does "notify" = "email"?

We previously had this in our workflow:

    And now we have

So far we're still seeing the double notification behavior, but we haven't yet sent a new thing through the workflow.

What is the right way to do this?

No definitive answer as I've not run into this one, but I'm optimistic that this change will fix it. Can you release a test part without breaking something? It could be also tangled up with user notification settings so may vary between users.

Thanks, but it seems that the problem was that we had notifications (email or otherwise) on for both the states and the transitions. We've switched to just the transitions, and now it's working correctly.
