Hidden connections between sketches?

See https://cad.onshape.com/documents/461737083d58022cde22df12/w/d4c57415830779738c015e75/e/432aebb8a54e68c44b541991
I have a design for a box using a living hinge design copied in from a public document. I have made a number of changes, including completely redoing the design from scratch in a new sketch. However, when I try to delete the earlier sketches, the one I want disappears as well. I have used 'Show constraints' to find/remove all the 'Project/Convert' constraints, but this didn't allow me to remove the other sketches. I'm pretty sure the problem lies between my ears, but I can't figure it out - any help would be appreciated.

Are you deleting
Sketch 2
? If so, the rest of design seems based on the geometry ofExtrude 1
, which is dependent on Sketch 2.Also, I recommend using part patterns rather than sketch patterns.
Well, I guess that is the problem I'm trying to solve - how to break that dependency. I started this project by importing a 'living hinge' design, and then played with scaling to see if I could simply scale the hinge geometry to fit my case. The result wasn't all that great, so what I thought I did next was to start a new sketch for a new part (part1) and used the 'Project/Convert' tool to pick up the hinge geometry. Then I added the rest of the part design to come up with the final part. Then I selected 'Show constraints' and deleted all the 'Use/Project' constraints, which I thought removed the dependencies from the previous design elements. Clearly I was wrong about this, but I'm not sure why, and I'm not sure what I can do to remove any remaining dependencies and wind up with just the sketch/extrusions required for the desired part. Any education would be appreciated
Honestly, for a part like this, I'd just redraw the whole thing. There's not much to preserve. If you feel compelled, you can set up measured variables based on the original design and then use those in your own sketch. Using the original sketch and then deleting the constraints means 1. a lot of geometry and 2. totally unconstrained entities.
Draw one segment, extrude, do a part pattern. More robust that way.
