Orientation changes in assembly not updating in context part studio

peter_robinson449peter_robinson449 Member Posts: 9

Hello all. I created part studio in contex from an assembly that had a 7-degree angle. So when I created a sheet metal pattern of the part I created of the context, it was angled 7 degrees. So I removed the angle in the assembly and updated the context in the part studio, but the angle remained. What am I not doing right? Your help would be appreciated.

Have you up dated the context? Does not update automatically.

Yes, I did both from the part studio as well as from the assembly. In the part studio it still shows the assembly in the 7-degree angle even though I removed the angle in the assembly. The problem is my flat pattern of my sheet metal is at the 7-degree angle.

Looks like you need to wait for the spinning wheel to stop before hitting enter. I've run into this myself.

The offsets and angle changes start at the assembly. When inserting the first part ( such as Coupling Truss Frame) select your composite part and hit the check mark in the dialog. This will place the part in the position it was drawn in. Then fix that part. If you drag it around on the screen while still in the dialog it can be any where.

With out the fix the part can be accidently be moved to any position and angle. All your in context edits to make other parts will be referenced to that position. See sluice assembly copy 1.

Using an array instead of inserting 5 parts will help to speed up display.

Thank you for your response and tips. But in the 'Header, sluice' part studio, it is still angled at 7 degrees when I first created in context, and the sheet metal flat pattern is also still at 7 degrees.

    Regards,

    Peter.
