What does this mean and why is it happening?

I get this error message when trying to insert a sub assembly into my main assembly. Why is it happening and how can I stop it happening?

That means in the sub assembly there is a error with the slider mate. You can go back into that assembly and make sure that the slider mate was done correctly and then try to insert it. If you want me to help even more with fixing the exact errors in the mates please share the document and post the link here.
