Is it possible to flatten a cylinder, need a flat template for cutting

How can I flatten this cylindrical model (grey part) so that I can get a flat template to use as a cut guide for this tube? The tube model itself is split laterally along it's length.

Here s one way to make a template. It's kind of round about but works. Make sure to set printer scale at 100%.
Note that the DXF does not auto up date as has to be replaced if changes are made.
