DOES DIFFERENT VIEWS HELP WITH PERFORMANCE?

Aly_kAly_k Member Posts: 10 PRO

So sometimes our cad lags and it's not a network issue because we have fixed that. At work we work or design with complicated cad and it either crashes or lags very badly. Is there by any chance if you change the way you view the document, will it help with performance issues?

Most of the display performance appears to be down to local hardware. With densely populated models, I have seen some lag when model resolution was set to fine on standard office computers. It may be wise to use a low or medium resolution as default and only set it to high for select parts with delicate curvature.

Besides that, the way parts are built or conditions between parts and docs can be a reason for lag. Hard to tell without further information, though.

Does the performance panel offer any insight? https://cad.onshape.com/help/Content/performance_panel.htm
