Fillet on spline

Benjamin_SeveracBenjamin_Severac Member Posts: 4 PRO

Hello,
I work in aerospace and I would like to know if it is possible to design fillet between 2 splines ? I design the joggle of sheets and I don't find the function.
Thank you.

In 2D in the sketcher you can easily apply a fillet.

In 3D, Bridging curve can make a transition between two arbitrary splines, but there's no easy way to make a perfect arc, if that's what you need.

I've felt a need for this a few times, so it might be worth a featurescript.
But usually I could get away with another solution, so I've never taken the time…

How would you need this for a joggle? In sheet metal, the fillets come for free in the bends…

Are we talking about filleting curves or surfaces? Face Blend can handle some more complex surfacing operations that fillet itself doesn't handle. If we're talking about bridging two arbitrary splines with a perfect arc and perfect tangency in 3 dimensions it's geometrically impossible to solve in most cases and you need a minimum of 2 circular arcs to achieve tangency in 3d space.
