HVAC Duct fitting - adding flanges/joints/something to connect these pieces

Hey there! Pretty new to CAD in general, but especially to OnShape. A buddy of mine helped me get started and I've got this pretty great model of a fitting I need for an hvac project. I just need to add some sort of flanges, or seams to the edges to get these pieces to be able to connect them together.
My hope was to add something to the side pieces to attach the top/bottom parts to. I tried doing a derived part in another studio, but it doesn't seem to maintain the sheet metal model. And thickening/extruding the part splits it into multiple parts because of the folds (I think?)
Any help is appreciated :)

I don't understand what your problem is fully. what would you need to derive for?
why not just hit the sheet metal flange functionality before finishing the sheet metal model. (obviously this only works on straight edges)
I was also going to add that I don't see a need to "finish" the sheet metal.
You can't add flanges to curved edges so you would be better off having a series of flats instead of large curves, then you could just create short flanges.
Something like this:
