Trying to make a spur gear roll inside of a ring gear

linus_johnsonlinus_johnson Member Posts: 2 EDU

As the title says,im trying to make a spur gear roll inside of a ring gear. All I can do is make them both spin. If this does not make sense, then it's like spinning a large ring around your finger

This is my CAD. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You need to define a circle the spur gear center moves upon and some helper (dummy) geometry that links to the angle of it's current position along that circle, so you can constrain that. Think something like an invisible crank.
