Adding custom properties with a Pro Account?

Hey folks,
I'd like to add a custom property (Length) to a particular workspace I'm working on (there are lots of parts cut from the same stock so I thought simply putting that dimension into the BOM might be convenient but if there's a better way let me know!).
I have a Pro account and according to the online documentation I'm supposed to be able to add custom properties via my profile - but the menu item they refer to doesn't appear to be present (or I'm looking in the wrong place).
BTW, is there a way to add a custom property that I can show in a BOM table to a specific assembly or do I need to do it for my entire account?
Thanks!

Oops. sorry I found it. My bad.
But my second question stands - any way to define a custom property that is assembly specific as opposed to your entire account?
Thanks!
Do you mean specific to a single assembly? Look into categories. You can create a specific category and assign custom properties that are specific that to that single category. That category can also inherit properties from other categories.
So in this case, you could create a "Special Assembly" category and set it to inherit all of the properties from an assembly. And then add your additional custom property to it as well.
In you actual assembly document, just assign the type to your "Special Assembly".
