Intro ... and this old man needs help!

Hi from Kentucky! I am 67, retired, and jumping into ONSHAPE in order to TRY to design three different mechanisms I must construct, as accessories on an RV I will live in full time, as I travel across America.

I don't know how many photos I can attach here. I am a RANK AMATEUR at CAD drawing, but I can produce understandable illustrations.

I must also state that I have overwhelming memory issues, the result of a bad bicycle accident at age 12. But I am functional, and I CAN LEARN. It is the ability to RETAIN the knowledge that haunts me each day.

I am looking for someone who can help me design these mechanisms, so I can have my local welder make them for me. I will attach the first illustration here, to give you some idea of what I am trying to accomplish. There are also two other projects I must complete.

I have a 2024 Kenworth T680 three-axle tractor, and I will soon take delivery of a new and HUGE toy hauler trailer. I will travel the country full time, until I drop dead one day, I guess.

So … I want to build a "garage pod" that I will carry on the truck frame, directly behind the sleeper. However, this pod will be able to be deployed to the ground on the passenger side of the truck at RV sites and campsites, etc., to provide for secure, lockable storage of my motorcycle, a generator and some other things that I would rather NOT lose to thieves.

The pod is 96" wide and 96" tall, and 102" long, front to rear. It will have its own axle, and a robotic "Trailer Valet" that will drive it into position at the places where I stop for any length of time.

I cannot work out the geometry of this mechanism, and I am not skilled enough to generate on screen simulations, and to check for interference, etc. So I am HOPING that software like ONSHAPE will help me accomplish this.

I would enjoy hearing from any person who can help me get "up to speed" on this software, or assist me DIRECTLY in designing it without needing ME to learn yet another entirely new software program, I do have access to my 1000 Watt fiber laser cnc table and other shop tools, and a laser welder, etc. so I can build it, if I can DESIGN IT.

You may also contact me via email, or telephone, or private message, etc. I will not post the private DATA here on a public forum though.

Thank you IN ADVANCE for any help or assistance you may be able to provide.

Joe

A CONCEPT drawing of how this pod will be loaded and unloaded. One arm assembly up front, and another at the rear. The pod is suspended from a round bar that crosses over the top center. I do not have the actual DIMENSIONS yet. Two pairs of synchronized hydraulic cylinders will do the work.

An example of the garage pod… It will be lifted from the roof.

This is the current rear view of my truck. The rear frame will be extended behind the wheels, and the toy hauler hitch will be connected there. So MOST of the area above the rear wheels is available… The existing Horse Shoe hitch in this photo will be removed. The TrailerSaver hitch will be installed…
