Shell used successfully in a part but no longer works

Hi. First time question - been using Onshape for a couple of years and not had any problems that couldn't be solved by the help or the forum, but can't find anything on this one:
I drew a vehicle body shape and shelled it, cut windows and added detail etc, exported to STL and printed, very pleased with it. Opening it up again after about 8 months, it's full of feature errors and is a mess.
https://cad.onshape.com/documents/5cf4898c7d0a78675574ac37/w/be9451398cece604d8079342/e/6c810e2ef7c37f60875b22cb?renderMode=0&uiState=698d11508dcc2ec41c1bae5b
The errors appear to start with the shell: "could not shell part with selections", so subsequent features that rely on e.g. the inner face of the shell fail.
The troubling thing about this is, last time I used the file it was fine. I know shell sometimes fails if there are too many curved sections but it did work, and now it doesn't.
Any ideas?

You could revert to the last healty version. It's always wise to make an explicit version when you commit to printing so you can always trace back to what you've just prototyped. when you right click on the shell feature and use the "edit healthy moment" function, onshape will find the version for you in which it was still working. you can revert back to that version…
This Onshape article shows how to diagnose failing shells, I find it very resourceful

Thanks, yes I tried this, but it reports no healthy state found in previous 14 revisions. What's interesting is that I did create a version because I wanted two slightly different STLs, and both the version I created and the current main have the same faults.
Thanks, that was helpful. I can see why the shell might not have worked, and I've used the advice to create a workable shell without some of the problematic curves, but the question is why it worked in the first place when maybe it probably shouldn't have, but then failed after not having been edited.
