A little help please with termonology

First, for a little background… I'm a health care professional getting into the world of 3D printing and CAD. I have an extensive IT background and very familiar with computers, software, and hardware.
That being said, I'm looking for the termonology to search for. See the picture attached. I'm trying to extrude on the inside of a cylinder (red area). All my searches in help come up blank, so I know I'm using the wrong words. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
The task, extrude a square chamfered object on the inner face of a cylinder.
Thanks in advance for your help and direction!

If @glen_dewsbury 's interpretation is correct, it might be called a key if there is a mating part. Search keyway, key, shaft.
If not not, I would use the more technical term nubbin.

Nubbin sounds fine.😋
