Hi
I need to make the rectangle box hollow inside. If I do shell it gives error

By moving the shell behind the extrude that made it shell will work. If not it's trying to shell the ring standing of from that ring. It can be done if the shell thickness is reduced enough, but I don't think that's what your after.

Insert the Shell feature before the thin sections.
