Best way to split active sheet metal

Hi,
Our lasercutter doesn't cut over 4 meters length, and since I build my handrail in context I want to be able to split the stringer since it's over 4m long.
What's the best way to do this, since tools for adjusting active sheet metal are limited?

I personally like to use a thin extrude cut through my sheet metal parts set to .0001" to give some micro clearance for my parts and give me an opportunity to draw some keying puzzlepiece geometry.
Derek Van Allen | Engineering Consultant | MeddlerGot it, now they're 2 parts in one flat pattern sheet model.
Thanks!
