I am trying to place an Expl. Mate Conn. into both parts to facilitate placement into an Assembly.

The part shown below is located on a conic surface. I have a square pin on the Gray part ( aka Manway ) to mate with the corresponding square hole in the Green part in order for alignment purposes. I understand how on a flat surface with a defined center, but not on a curved surface. Hopefully I am describing it OK.

Would help to see both parts separately/un-mated. Even better would be to share a link to your document.
