Marble Machine Motivation

Greetings fellow educators!

I'm so entranced lately with watching the Wintergatan - YouTube series. With the help of @Derek_Van_Allen_BD (and constant shout outs to @EvanReese ), we get to see the creative process unfold in real time (although the after real time, 1.5x speed is the more realistic option).

I'm sure he'll have the entire process as a playlist eventually - but I was tired of hunting down between live streams and edited videos - I made a playlist. - Playlist of Marble Machine Videos.

From Master Part design, to the love of all things mate connector, to all sorts of custom features, and design for regen time - there's a ton of treasure to be found.

Great Collection! Creative projects do often offer so much more room for educative experiments than bread and butter jobs.

I'm really enjoying Martin's and Derek's process and dynamic. It helps a lot that Martin has experience with CAD. Coming from Solidworks myself, it's nice to have a proper pacing to things, and learning more in depth tips and tricks without getting too stuck into very basic CAD design things. It really properly shows off how powerful Onshape can be. They might loose some more novice designers, but for me it's a perfect way to learn about Onshape.

@martin_kopplow working in a creative industry that caters to toddlers has taught me more about hardcore engineering constraints and project delivery requirements than engineering school or the pharmaceuticals industry ever did. You start to see things through a different lens when you have to put yourself in the mind of a toddler, or when you're sitting in a conference room on hour 4 of a heated conversation about how to unclog the 6 foot diameter toilet bowl when it's 20 feet in the air over head if someone lets the intrusive thoughts in and hucks a shoe over the rim.
