how to create a drawing which is the same dimensions as the sketch

daniel_obstdaniel_obst Member Posts: 2

hi im new to this and struggling to create a drawing the same dimensions as the scetch i have done. For example on the sketch, the dimensions of one line is 682.786mm, when converted to a drawing that same line is changed to 26.881mm. so when i convert the part to dxf file to be laser cut it is no where near the size it needs to be

Without seeing the document. I'm going to hazard a guess that you need to change your sheet scale to 1:1. However, if all you want is the DXF, then make your sketch a solid or a face, right-click it, select export as DXF, and skip all the other steps.

If you are only seeing this after moving to a DXF software, it would sound like a unit or import issue.

Since 682.786 divided by 26.881 is exactly 25,4 there should be very little doubt this is a unit conversion issue. Did I already mention we should ditch inches and the whole imperial unit system alltogether, for the good of mankind? ;o)
