PEM Treaded insert Holes

dan_manoimdan_manoim OS Professional Posts: 17 PRO

This One I made with claude. Basically it creates a hole according to a user selected PEM threaded insert for plastic. It includes all the Heat steak and press in inserts.

Added, thanks! I had a job a few months ago where this would have come in super handy.

What's it doing? Just a cylindrical hole? Doesn't it accept MC as input? I see sketch 2 was created just so the center vertex comes available. Except for providing a list of typical diameters I can see little advantage over a simple hole. Did I miss sometning?

The project I just completed needed a taper at the top of the hole to work properly, and the depth has to be right for the deformed material to flow to. It wasn't hard to model. But it was a lot of time looking up the specs and finding the exact drawing with dims to model it from the vendor. Then, I had to change the size a couple of times, and had to do it all over again. This has all of that built in, so you pick the insert from the drop down and the hole is just right. (assuming it matches what's on the vendor site…).
