Export Drawings as Images

Would be nice to be able to export drawings as .JPEG, .PNG, and .SVG images for better sharing on a website.

@roryaronson,+1 for your suggestion. You can raise improvement request for this. In near future we hope that this facility will be provided by Onshape.

Hello @jakeramsley  Can you add me to the improvement request too?  Being able to export directly to SVG would be great and eliminate needing to go through Inkscape or Illistrator as an extra step to convert DXF to SVG.

If you only need a low-res cartoon image (JPG, PNG bitmap) on a web page of the drawing why not use the built-in OS screen capturing functions/utilities?

If you need a hi-res image why not export drawing as a PDF and use the browser's built-in PDF viewer, or an external PDF viewer?

    Note: PDF supports multi-sheet drawings.

This last comment is not a good solution because you want to export an image with transparency (without the background).
Too bad the functionality isn't present.

    There is a solution:

Install the free version of PDF Creator (https://www.pdfforge.org/pdfcreator)

Just "Print" your drawing in Onshape and choose pdfcreator as printer.
Then you can save as pdf, jpeg, png, tiff...

It is also possible to create custom profiles so you can save your settings.
I use it to save drawings in a special tiff format for one customer.

Transparent png works not so good with shaded views:
