Make only a segment of a sketch Construction lines

say you create a circle with a line threw the middle and want to make one half the outside construction lines. Currently if you use the tool, it turns the full circle into construction in stead of half. It would be useful for it to be like the trim tool and allow you to change segments instead of the full sketch.

Could you not just use the split tool on the circle and then toggle the half you want to construction geometry? Also you can view for your own IR's 😉

I know this is an old thread but +1 for this.

The "Cut" tool correctly select minimal length line segments and deletes them. We seen a similar tool that converts them to construction lines.

Using the cut tool deletes design intent and often causes the sketch to become unconstrained, depending on where the constraints were applied.

Using the split tool approach requires too many additional steps. The split end points have to be defined and constrained, which happens automatically with the cut tool.
