Fasten without Rotation.

I am creating a design where I attach a propeller to a rod. How can I attach the propeller to the rod while having the rotation of the rod also rotating the propeller in the assembly?

Hi @nikola_peric - you can either use a Fasten mate or Group the two parts together.

When I fasten the parts together the rotation from the rod is not transferred to the propeller. I will try grouping them together. Thanks for your help.

The purpose of the fasten mate is to completely lock two parts together, so it should really be doing that for you. Can you post the link to your document so we can take a look and see what the problem is? Here are some instructions about posting links:

@nikola_peric - I don't know if you've resolved your issues yet, but one important thing to note is that the animation you see when you have the mate dialog open only animates the two components in the mate. This can be misleading and confusing. So, to see if other parts are moving correctly, you need to finish adding the mate, click the green check mark, and then manually drag the parts around to see if everything else is working correctly.3
