Can I have unique names for assemblies and their mates that are created via circular pattern.
Hi, I've got a couple of subassemblies stacked and connected via revolute mates into a "tower". I have no problem duplicating this aggregate assembly using Assembly Circular Pattern, resulting in a few towers. However, I've got the mates uniquely named in tower1 (dof_tower1_a, dof_tower1_b, ...), and would like to be able…

Mate connectors: What is the side dialog intended for? (just curious)
Above, you see a dialog while I'm hovering on top of that mate. It looks like I could change the values right from here, but if I move the mouse to the right, the dialog disappears around the "show/hide" icon. I never reach it. Is it intended to stay put, so I could e.g. edit the entries from here? What I was trying to…

How to create a mate connector 'in the air'?
In an assy a part with a fillet is inserted. In that assy I like to use/create a Mate Connector that is on the (virtual) edge that was used to create the fillet. Of course I can move the MC along one of the red arrows but then its position depends on the fillet radius, which is undesirable for the design intent. How do I…

Parts losing mate connectors in assembly
In this assembly (hydronics | Assembly 1 (onshape.com)) I've inserted a couple instances of a 90 degree elbow part from a part studio in the same document. In the parts studio, the elbow part has 4 mate connectors, two at each end. When inserted into the assembly, there are only two connectors, both at one end. The…

Can't get pin to follow slot correctly at all
Hey everyone, I've been working on a project where an inside chamber with a pin follows a slot on an outside chamber such that when you twist the inside chamber, it follows the path on the outside chamber and achieves linear motion. However, I haven't been able to get this to animate properly at all. I've tried all sorts…

Assemblies - Using different connection types on a single mate.
In my assembly, I have an arm that I want to push the door open with. I need the end of the arm to basically be a ball joint + planer joint to simulate the arm moving however it wants to on the door. I can get one or the other, but not both types to work at the same time. Any suggestions? Assembly 1:…

Highlight a mate connector using an entity in a table row
I'm creating mate connectors with attributes that I'll display in a table. I'd like to highlight the mate connector corresponding to the table row. I've done this with other bodies. When I select a row in the table where I've set the mate connector as the relevant entity, the mate connector doesn't respond. I can make…
