Derived Parts Retain Mate Connectors That Cant be Hidden
I created a new part studio tab in a workspace and used parts derived from parts in other part studios in the same workspace. The derived parts bring in attached mate connectors that can't be deleted or hidden. Like this: How can I derive parts and not create mate connectors, or hide these mate connectors?

Ball and socket restriction
Hi, I have a problem where I have a ball and socket but I want to restrict rotations to only the X and Y axis. There is a pin in the socket running a slot in the ball. I don't understand how to restrict rotation around the Z axis to give my assembly the rotations I want. I have tried using revolute mate connector in the…

Revolute Mate (Probably very simple)
Hi, I'm new to all of this... Im trying to make a box with a rotating hindged lid on top with two parts: the box and the lid I tried to put a revolute mate on it to see how it opened and it worked, but it rotates a full 360 degrees where the top of the lid will phase through the box. I wanted to test if the lid had enough…

Handle Geometry In Exercise 5.2.2 - Creating Mate Connectors Changes CoM
Hey Everyone! I redid this exercise but I am running into the same issue. I'm initially trying to follow the directions verbatim in order to better understand how OnShape works and handles. The issue I am running into is with the way the arm loads the angle of geometry in Slide (Step) 12 eventually translates into an…

Hiding derived mate connectors
Is there any way to hide mate connectors from derived parts? I can hide mate connectors that are created in a part studio, but if I derive a part into another part studio and it contains mate connectors I can't hide them. I end up with a ton of abandoned mate connectors near the origin.

Submitting a model for tech support
Just finished boot camp lesson 2, trying some mates, thought I had written down how to get support, but realize I don't know. How to get support? I shared the model with support, and I think that I need to go to the part studio, then create an Explicit Mate Connector in the Cuvette Rack Base where the bottom of the Cuvette…

Radial mate connectors
I can't figure out how to make a pie and then have the pieces of the pie expand out radially on mate connectors. My goal is to allow an exploded view of the object. Can this be done? I need a mate connector down the centerline of the piece but there is none. Can this work on a round shell (ie no tip of the pie piece to…
