Pattern of sketches containing text with increasing values
I am trying to create a circular pattern of (embossed) text on a surface, with each instance displaying a different value in increasing order. A simple example would be a clock with hours values increasing around the dial. My final project will have much more than 12 values but the dial will serve here as an illustration…

sheet metal model with text
I'm drawing up some "box signs" — basically sheet metal pizza boxes with numbers cut out — and am stumbling to make sheet metal model for them. The example in the pic is a shell with 1/16" thickness and no bottom face. The letters are extruded/removed from that. When I go to make a sheet metal model I spec the sign part,…

Challenging sketch constraint with variable text - not mission critical!
I have a use case where I'm populating a text block from a configuration variable to emboss onto a face and depending on the length of the text it either breaks out either horizontally or vertically. Plenty of ways to work around it but I'm curious if there's a "pure" sketch constraint approach… I'm probably going with an…

Trouble with sketch constraints on Text fields
For my first project with Onshape, I am trying to modify an object by adding text to it in a repeating circular manner. I understand that the text entity cannot be part of a circular pattern so this is not my issue. I want each text object to be different anyway (days of the week). To have the text correctly positioned…

How to linear pattern text that increases the value from variable
I have made this nut size test for M5, M4, M3 lock nuts In order to make all the other 9 hex holes in that row I used a linear pattern along with an increasing variable of step size = 0.05 mm What I would like to do know is to add text on the side that describes the dimension of the inscribed circle used to make that hex…

How can I sketch curved text?
Hi, I like to use OnShape to create DXF files to laser cut. I have been trying to create a circular perpetual calendar but have been unable to curve the text to follow a curved line as its base line. Additionally, is there a way to import fonts into OnShape?

Move letter from text
Hello I'm not new to CAD, but to OnShape. If I create a text with several letters in the sketch mode, how can I move just one letter? If I use the transform option the whole text moves along and not just one letter. Can I somehow de-link these letters? Any help appreciated.

techniques for inlaid text for 3d printing
I have been trying to figure out a good technique for handling 'inlaid' text for exporting to 3d printing slicing software. I am saying inlaid as opposed to embossed or raised because I don't just want the text to be an adjustment to the surface but to be a separate entity that i have full form control over and will be…

How do I snap to text curves?
I have some numbers that I want to turn into stamps. To provide spacing I want to run construction lines off the widest parts of the numbers in the Sketch. OnShape doesn't let me select the curves for snapping. It lets me Select them but not operate on them. It only lets me select the construction lines of the framework it…

Configurable text item (Sticker or Padprint)
Hi there, I'd like to configure a product with different sticker or padprint options. The great thing is, I can also specify a surface as a part. However when I want to use a text with different letters I get a ton of parts for each letter of the text. Unfortunately I cannot use boolean operations since the letters are not…
