Referencing driven dimentions
First off, I have seen many forum posts about using variables to make a know driving dimension adjustable. That is not my question. I am trying to design an optical system by modeling light rays passing through the various elements. I use a formula to model the refracted angle of light based on the angle of incidents of… -
Re: Existing STL - add parameters to be customs
Parameters depend on features in the feature tree. So, for an imported file, there won't be any features to begin with. Once you modify your model, though, e.g. by offsetting or otherwise moving surfaces, the move feature would have parameters (like XYZ offset or so) and these could then be used to parameterize the… -

need help defining a formula value within a variable
I have this variable defined. As you can see I am using two other variable definitions to define the value of a third variable. As written it works just fine. Im taking the #slat_width multiplying by a factor of .87 and then dividing by the #slat_slot_count to define the #slat_slot_distance. What I NEED to do instead is… -
Can Custom Properties set by FeatureScript be numbers?
I have a "Quantity" custom property that populates a field in our drawings to indicate how many panels of a certain size need to be fabricated. I would like to drive that "Quantity" property with a variable from a variable studio - however when I set up my FeatureScript to assign the variable I keep getting this error… -

Re: What is the "proper" way to design a multi piece design with intertwined constraints
Hi Shaolo, Let me start by saying that I 100% agree with jnewth. In your case, definitely use one part studio & create multiple parts (and then make configurations of those parts ) As a workflow - I like to create a folder (and name it variables) at the start of the feature tree . Then place all variables in this folder…
