Configurations
Hello, I have create a design of a table for my Woodworking students. All parts are in 1 parts studio so that I could relate the geometry. I then created a configuration table of the main dimensions (Height, Width, Length, leg size and skirt width). Each student has different dimensions to make the tables different to… -
How to strip the units from a length?
Hi All, Is there a way to strip a length of it's units so the decimal number can be used in a "ceil(#/#)" equation? I am trying to use configs to create an expanded metal/grating generation part studio and have it working well except for getting the desired sheet size to auto size. I am using measure distance FS to get the… -
Re: How can I shell objects to maintain a XY dimension thickness to optimize for thin walled 3D printing
Hi @andrew_slovak I also would like to have a function to shell it with the same thickness in XY-Plane. That will speed up the print and make it cleaner, I agree. I don't know what slicer you use, but a few of them have a function to vary the line width to reduce unecessary infill. In the Bambu Studio it is called… -

Can someone help me out?
Hello everyone, I am trying to make a very simple hole feature that is driven off of FS sketches. I am trying to eliminate all mouse clicks. It seems very simple, I'm just missing something small. This is the intended outcome of what I want the code to do. and here is the code that I have so far. FeatureScript… -
Re: Modify a single dimension and having the rest automatically scale to adjust
It sounds like you want to create dimension relationships which is a great use of Onshape's variables: https://cad.onshape.com/help/Content/variable.htm Our variables are very powerful and I have multiple examples I can show you for various situations. I have a design where I have one variable, width, and use it to drive… -
[noob inside] how to make a glass ?
I've already tried to ask this question, sorry if it duplicates. I try to make a kind of glass : a cylinder with a bottom, all of this with a bit of width. I start by making a disk, then I offset to determine the width of my wall, then I extrude my wall... and I don't manage to make a bottom. I would like to extrude the… -
Rectangle Tool - what construction geometry should Onshape provide?
I was disappointed "back in the day" when Solidworks chose to add diagonal construction lines as an option. Of the three possibilities I can think of, it's the least useful. One of the other two possibilities has recently been added to Sldwks (about a decade late, to my way of thinking): a full width construction line in… -
