Can't create drawing of sketch.
I created a sketch of a knife but onshape won't let create a drawing. When I create a drawing then try to import the sketch, I get a "failed to resolve sketch" error. I can import the full 3-d part, but not the sketch. I tried copy and pasting the sketch into different documents, but that didn't work. Does anyone have a… -

Re: Why is my mate assembly overdefined?
Onshape only requires one to constrain a part. A Fastened mate fully constrains all 6 degrees of freedom of a part. In your assembly: Part 1 <1> is fixed Fastened 1 fixes Part 1 < 3> Fastened 2 fixes Part 2 <1> Fastened 3 fixes Part 1 <2> Fastened 4 fixes Part 1 <4> Any more mates will overdefine your assembly. -

Re: What is the "proper" way to design a multi piece design with intertwined constraints
For what you designed, which is 3 parts for 3d printing, and all 3 parts are explicitly made to fit together, I would have definitely made it all in a single part studio. You’d probably be around 75 features for everything, maybe even 50. When you get many more parts, or the parts have a lot more complexity, such as for… -

Re: Sheet nesting for parts
If you have multiple sheet metal models and flat patterns in your model you can choose to export all the flats in one step. 1. Open the Sheet metal table and flat view from the right side toolbar 2. RMB on the flat and select Export DXF/DWG 3 Edit the export options to suit 4. Under the Scope dropdown you can choose from… -
Quantity of parts or sub-assemblies in the assembly in drawings
Hello. I am new to the onshape and I have a problem I can't figure out. I need in my drawings the quantity of the part from assembly and possibly a list of subassemblies. For example. I have part P-001 which is used 2 times in sub-assembly SA-001 and 1 time in sub-assembly SA-002. SA-001 is used 3 times and SA-002 is used… -
Re: BSplineCurve questions
@Jacob_Corder Thanks! I tried very carefully again, and n - degree + 1 worked (it padded the knots as advertised). I guess I must of counted wrong or something. I tried this. It works as you suggested. It does make it easier to write with certain ratios. With both of these hints I was able to go from: [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0,…
