Re: I would like a forum "for dummies"
With Onshape’s forum, I don’t recall anyone ever taking a ‘forget you’ type of attitude. Especially towards those new to the forum. In fact, a lot of the time, long time users of the forum take time to welcome newbies. So, welcome to the forum.
I am of the opinion that a lot of the time, the reason questions may take awhile to get answered, is because those reading the original post, are possibly having a hard time understanding exactly what is being asked.
Other times, there may be some that are of the thought that the person asking the question would possibly be better off doing otherwise than what is being asked. So in a case like that, someone like me will wait for others to respond to the original post, then, at that time, I would offer up a response something like this —— ‘hey, you also MIGHT be interested in taking this approach …’
Of all the CAD forums I have ever participated in, this is the most professional and cordial of all. I say professional in that people don’t get petty as in other CAD forums I have participated in. Maybe it’s because there are a lot of engineers here.
I suggest you post your questions as clearly stated as possible, with hand sketches or the link to your document, and see what happens. There are a lot of very helpful participants here in this forum.
Re: bend face, or i dont know help
Without access to your document it will be hard to determine the cause of fragments. You will have to provide a link so that everyone can see what you did to get to the point you are.

Re: Problem with Surface text Cut out function
Now I see my mistake! If i at first has a text heigth of 1 mm, I need too cut 1,5 mm to get a 0,5 mm cut in my surface
Thank you!
Re: I need this like yesterday. Surface creation by 3d snap
Yes, Fill has had the ability to add guides (points or curves) all along. However it is completely different code/algorithm than the other one mentioned earlier in this thread.
Re: Part name won't change (to include expression variables) tried multiple Featurescripts
This is probably one of my biggest frustrations with FeatureScript. Any property (name, appearance, etc) that has been set by the user cannot be overridden by a featurescript. I'd really like to just set an option in "setProperty" for like "override" or something that can force it. I end up in some workflows where you just can't do anything about it.
The only way to fix it is to go into the part → properties → reset all.
The other way is to pattern the input body and delete the original - thus creating a new part. Which 9 out of 10 times is not really an acceptable workflow.
Re: Time Log for Documents
Hey, I added a feature to the FTC Insert Tool Onshape app accomplish this. The video details how to quickly see the hours on any Onshape document. Please note that these are estimates based on how many and how often changes are made on the document and do not necessarily include time spent reviewing the model without making changes. If you were to charge money based on, I would recommend explaining how this is estimated to your client. Also note that you may have to edit the spreadsheet to account for more than 100 days.
Can we please get standard ctrl/shift+click to select/deselect for marquee selection
As it stands, there is currently no way to easily add or remove items from a selection made using a marquee. It is near impossible to visually select just the items you want.
If I'm missing something, but if not, this would be a hugely timesaving feature.
Re: Can we please get standard ctrl/shift+click to select/deselect for marquee selection
You can add or remove them by just clicking on them. Just as you'd do with CTRL-Click, but without CTRL.
Re: How to put holes in this cap
Danke das hat geholfen. Mein Problem war, dass der Obere Teil eine Oberfläche und nicht ein Volumenkörper war. Deswegen konnte ich ihn auch erst nicht als Zusammenführungsbereich angeben.

Re: Center of Gravity
Currently I'm just guessing.
