Re: Product Catalog (New Custom Feature!) 🆕
Yes, although it would be even cooler if Onshape did it automatically when it recognizes the same geometry and properties. It would be nice to override it if the properties are different but the geometry is the same.
Re: Product Catalog (New Custom Feature!) 🆕
Agreed. Would be great if we could tag parts with a special attribute that would let the assemblies know to that these two parts are supposed to be counted the same in the bom.
Re: ¿how to make a rectangular spiral?
Already two great solutions above. But, if you wanted even another way, a quick FS will do it.
Re: ¿how to make a rectangular spiral?
Kevin's will be the most straight forward way.
Here are a few more steps you could take to make the loop count dynamic with a feature pattern:

Re: ¿how to make a rectangular spiral?
You could certainly do it with a Custom Feature, but creating a seed sketch and repeatedly offsetting it will also work (bit more manual). Particuarly if you drive everything off of one variable, you can edit that number and scale the whole spiral. Made a quick example, pretty fun!
Re: Exclude Parts from Drwaing(s)?
Ah! Thanks a lot. I completely forgot about diplay states being available in drawings and search in the help/learning section didn't reveal it either. Both these methods work on a per view basis, with display states, it being a kind of preset, appearing a bit more manageable, while sow/hide parts is quicker on an individual view. In my current case I now made a with / without assembly fixture drawing state and that pretty much does it, even if I have to activate it for every view. I just made a second sheet with the other state and hope this way it'll only need to be set one time and can be controlled from the assy when modifications need to be made.
Re: Exclude Parts from Drwaing(s)?
Hey @martin_kopplow,
The Display state functionality in the Assembly should do what you are looking for. This way you can create a Display state with the parts hidden that you don't want on your drawing. On your drawing you can then select that display state for your reference view.
Hope this helps. Cheers
Re: Exclude Parts from Drwaing(s)?
You can choose to do it on the drawing if isn't too many little parts?
Right click drawing view and show/hide parts
Re: cad.new down?
HI @john_rousseau . Totally not TMI, that's very interesting. For the moment https://cad.onshape.com/new is a good workaround. I do understand that there are higher priorities ATM. Thanks for your answer!
