Re: Optimization for 3D-Printing - Split up part for glueing
No tool can guess your intent, but there are a few tools in the Feature Script section that'll help you create splits with glueing aids such as dovetails and offsets. You could search this forum or search though the published FS in the public documents or directly from the FS menu.
Re: WTF happened ?????? We have to pay now??
Onshape for commercial use has never been free but I see your 6 months on the Discovery program has now ended so your documents are still private but view only. It looks like you have a call scheduled with your account manager, but I'll forward this to them anyway.
Re: Drawing circle from midpoint cause "Sketch could not be solved."
I have no idea, but problems like this can arise when sketches are too busy. Keep them simple - 10 entities or so. You should also make use of equal constraints on the circles so you don't have to keep adding dimensions. Also, since these are holes, a point would suffice and then use the hole feature afterward and maybe even a circular pattern. For what it is, this model is over complicated.
Re: adding shaded views in drawings
Right click over view and see this menu. Available in free version.
Re: Adjusting fins on the diffuser part
I actually did end up using the Loft feature! but I ended up figuring it out like a week after I posted. Nonetheless, thank you very much for your guy's help. I didn't think I'd get a response here. But the attached screenshot is the final look of what this part looks like :)
I got a small channel in which I'll be running tubing to supply oil to bearings and shaft of the engine, and obviously added some holes for screws to hold the diffuser attached to the shaft casing. And as you can see I now have a perfect curvature feature that I was looking for.
P.S. the primary feature of the diffuser is to slow down air inside the chamber, but also give it a spiral momentum so the mix of the air and fuel will be fairly even. This can be achieved by giving the fins a "diagonal" feature (as shown) but also making the space between the fins in the entrance smaller than by the "exit" area. Note for those who aren't familiar with diffuser: Its tightly encase, so the air follows these "routes" only and nowhere on the outside
Re: Round is multihexagon, how to change
Render studio also allows specific tessellation settings on a part or subassembly basis. Right mouse click and choose Tessellation from the context menu.
Re: Improvements to Onshape - January 10th, 2025
There have been hints since V2455, since formed tools need to be handled in patterns etc.
registerSheetMetalFormedTools.fs has existed since then.
Also noticed that acorns have made a comeback…
Re: Rotation of a part around the center of mass.
Why? What are you trying to do? Why comment that on this thread?
Perhaps try the learning center and/or ask some questions. The transform tool could be improved, but I'm guessing that whatever issue you're complaining about has a much more simple solution. A lot of people coming from other CAD systems or rendering tools try to transform things over and over instead of building them the right way parametrically.
