Feature Request: Export an imported mesh

Another post notes that an imported mesh (such as an .stl) can only be used as reference geometry and will be missing if the part studio is exported.

I, like the person who posted the question in that other post find scenarios in which it would be nice to add other parts to the imported mesh, then re-export the whole thing. Since the original imported file is an .stl, it should be possible to re-export it as such along with the new geometry. The purpose of doing this would be to keep the alignment between the new and old geometry.
