Kinematic study of a simple crank-rod mechanisms

Hi .
I'm newbie to Onshape.
Prior to start my self learnig path I've a question : I need to create for my students animations of some simple mechanisms like crank-rod system and monitor in real-time some kinematic and geometric value as rod foot acceleration and velocity in function of crank angle . Is Onshape right for us? 
P.S. Our school has an active license agreement with Mathworks, I've read that Matworks software suite can interact with onshape but I don't know how

Hi, not sure about mathworks ( @joe_dunne ) but swift calcs have an integrated cloud app for onshape.

@cosimo_mercuro : Not sure how detailed you want your animations to be. There are a few options 1. Your students should be able to animate the models in an assembly from within Onshape. This is not a video, but rather interacting with the model from within Onshape. Here is a link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNYXK8y2-Qg . 2. If you want a video, you can set the model up, animate it and use a screen recording software of your choice to record the animation. 

If you want to use Matlab / Simulink, you will need the Simscape toolbox. Here is the documentation on how to import the model from Onshape : https://www.mathworks.com/help/physmod/sm/ug/onshape-import.html

Hi Paul. Thanks for your reply and sorry fo my , hard, delay. Other than cinematic simulation of  a model, is it possible directly whitin Onshape to view parameter like velocity, acceleration, and so on…? Thanks in advance

Mathworks product `Simmechanics` has a connection to Onshape. https://www.mathworks.com/products/simmechanics/onshape.html That should provide that kind of simulation and more if you have access to SimMechanics.

@cosimo_mercuro , This isn't possible from within Onshape, however you may want to checkout Simmechanics as noted above.
