Increase duration of time before "system timeout"?

Cedric_EveleighCedric_Eveleigh Member, OS Professional, csevp Posts: 64 PRO
I often switch to doing other things while working on a CAD model in Onshape, it's inconvenient to have to refresh the browser every time there's a "system timeout". Is it possible to increase the duration of inactivity required for system timeouts to occur?

I seem to be seeing these timeouts after shorter absences than in the past. Has the timeout time been reduced?

We're balancing user convenience, security and resource utilization by timing out idle sessions. This idle timeout is 1hr and has been for years, but there are occasional early disconnects that have been reported.

there are time when I jump back to other tabs and roll around the model in hopes to keep the tab alive until I need to get back to it.
(sorta like touching your screen on your phone to keep it from locking)
but that doesn't seem to be enough and it will still time out.

What is the minimum input required to start the timeout counter?

You need to send a message to the server. Hide / show a part? Open a feature for edit? Any of these will do. Pan, rotate, zoom won't do it.

    Thanks

So, I should just double-tap J or K then eh?

    That should work.

Selecting an edge in the model should also do it (without changing the model, unlike hiding/showing planes) because measurements are performed on the server.
