Weldments

I am not sure if the weldments update has been issued yet. But it would be extremely helpful to have similar features as SolidWorks does for steel weldment profiles.

No native weldments yet but there is a very good "Beams" custom feature written by onshape staff.

Actually I find the Beams feature to be better than SW's weldment tool.
With the exception of Onshape's lack of 3D sketching; Beams is much more intuitive/customizable/stable.

I concur - Beams FS is very intuitive and has real flexibility.  Using Custom profile is easy although a bit tedious since you have to choose the profile sketch for each batch of Beams;  I think weldments is an area Onshape will improve also - include cut list and replacement for ex.  

This is my first job using Beams and it went really well...

Improvements can be made like 3D sketch and 3D welds + comment from upper message.

Onshape part studio is a perfect environment for building weldments. I have made a tutorial it has flaws but It will show the necessary steps to make a full documentation for a welded simple frame made from profiles.
