Function-shaped hole?

Wondering if there’s a way to draw a curve using a polynomial function.
I’m making a 3D printed interactive manipulative tool for my AP Stats students and I need to create a hole in the shape of the Normal curve (AKA “bell curve”).
It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it’d be nice if it I could get a decent approximation.
Any tips other than using sketch tools and extruding the hole?
thanks
