select the axis to revolve around

I've made a shape that I'm trying to revolve, but I don't know how to select the axis to revolve around.

    Hi.
    That depends on your end goal?
    Here are two of a bunch of possible revolves of your original sketch:-

    A straight edge, circle and z-axis of a mate connector are all valid inputs for a revolve axis.
    On the left example I've used the centre vertical axis, on the right example I've used the top edge of the sketch.  Note on the left example the sketch needs to be split into two regions.  You just want one half to revolve otherwise one side intersects the other on a full revolve.
