Imported Image is Black

famadorianfamadorian Member Posts: 390 ✭✭✭
For some weird reason, when I import this image, it's black.

I've also tried to convert it to JPG, but it's still black;)

What's going on? Onshape loads my other images.

I suspect the Resolution of the image is very high. Try to reduce the number of pixels and upload it again.

This solved a similar problem I had.

I made a copy of your Onshape document, then I made a part studio and put the image on a plane and it's still black

Go open up that document again. I brought that image into a Part Studio.

The image is washed out looking. But it’s there.

OK the below two images are screen captures I made of what I’m seeing.
Look at the name of the document. This is the copy you made

I’m using an iPhone 8+ and I’m obviously using the mobile app for the iPhone

Looks to me like it’s something to do with your graphics card on your computer or your browser

I loaded this document into my android and there is nothing there, either.

Can you try on a computer?

Per chance, are you using Firefox?

It is showing for me in your document while using Chrome and a MacBook Pro.

I would consider shrinking the image resolution down some if you are going to be compressing it so much in a sketch anyways.

The preview is a png file that is displayed by the browser. The image in the modeling area is a texture that needs to be applied to a quad. This looks like an issue with the GPU/browser.

    1. Can you send us the output of chrome://gpu ?
    2. Can you check if any errors are being reported in the browser console. This can be opened using the following shortcut keys :

     (Linux/Windows) Control+Shift+J

Yup, scaled it down and works perfectly;) Thanks

So, this is a bug, then, but only with me, it seems.

Do we have a bug tracker?

    @famadorian,

We don't have a bug for this. Can you please create one for support via the help menu? This way you can get notified, when it does get addressed.

    Thank you.
