Self intersecting error on loft with spline guides

avi_yaaravi_yaar Member Posts: 3
I'm trying to loft an arch of sorts to a rectangle using 4 3-d spline curves as guides (from each corner of the rectangle to each corner of the arch). The loft fails to generate with an error "Current selections would create a self-intersecting body". I can't figure out why OnShape thinks this shape would self-intersect and how to get rid of this error.

Would appreciate any help - thanks!

Hi @avi_yaar - the bottom of your curves are tangent to the end profile. You can't loft to a face if the guides are tangent to that face - it will self-intersect. Edit your curves so that they are at least normal to both profiles.
