Remove Sketch Notification Box

Hi Yah,

Is there any chance the developers can work on removing/hiding the Sketch Notification box or the ability to autohide once you start sketching...it gets so annoying having it lap over the modelling area and the only way to close it or remove it is to stop sketching.

Thanks in advance  :)

    Hi @charlie_riley083

are you aware you can move any of the dialog boxes by grabbing the top of box?  Not hiding as you ask but does get them out of way (or closer which is nice when there is a lot of back and forth with dialog - saves mouse miles...

    Hi Yah Bruce,
thanks for the reply but all that's doing is moving it from one corner to another  haaa haaaa, would be nice to hide it for some more screen space

You can also drag it over the feature list if you want

Then to accept, not moving cursor to the green arrow, RMB and click on "confirm sketch".

The other trick to improve graphics area, hit command - on your keyboard to reduce everything. (ctrl - on a pc). I do this a lot and make it so I can barely read the text. Older cad systems lacking these zoom capabilities are crap.

Seems like you need to zoom out a couple of times.

Also remember the feature tree & sketch boxes move. If you get them close to the window's edge, they attach there and move with window if it's resized.

    I  typically don't move'm around.

Why can't I just attach that window to the side and then hide it like the feature tree. it is extremely irritating and in the way

+ 1 vote on the UI box having a minimize button (so the box collapses and just the header remains).

FYI : @billy2 your tip about (ctrl - or +) also works inside the forums as well (It changes font size) - great for us older guys who are visually challenged. This was an unexpected find, one that I will use a lot. Thanks

While I realize this is not an option for everyone, larger monitors (e.g. 27" 4K) have gotten cheaper and cheaper. I really can't imagine doing a lot of serious CAD on a small screen.

Definitely worth it. Screen real estate IMO is the CAD accelarator number one. On my old desk, I had three monitors, and would keep one for the modeling window, exclusively, but I have a single 4K 34" thing now, and it makes everything much more fluid. In the shop office, we set up a 6k 72" or so monitor on the wall about 1m away from the desk, and guess what: It's even better. Enough space fo all the windows, palettes and dialogues and nothing on the desk no more, except Keyboard, Mouse and SpaceMouse. Looks very pro, too, but comes at the price of significantly increased cost for electricity. I didn't expect that much.

Anyway, having an auto-minimize mode for dialogs, which makes them minimise when the mouse pointer leaves them or goes elswhere, and maximize on mouseover on the title bar, could be a handy thing to have, when away from the office with only a laptop available, which is a huge part of OS's DNA as a "Design Anywhere" system. I would in fact prefer that over the proposed minimize button, for I'd hate having to hit it each time.
