Selecting from feature tree

Has anyone found when right clicking on the feature tree, low down on the screen, that the window that opens has the delete function right next to the curser?
I have unintentionally deleted part and mate features and had to undo to get the item back.
Requires paying close attention on my part. Is it me? Do I have an itchy trigger finger?
A fix would be to have a blank space at the bottom of the controls window

RMB and hold it down, slide and release on item to click. This works but I can't do it regularly.
I find clicking in the middle of the part name is less sensitive to this behavior. Clicking on the right side of the name will fire off the the delete item in the list almost every time.
On top of this, the scroll bar hides the show/hide option when the tree grows beyond the screen height.
Overall I like the feel of the feature tree, but these 2 are my issues.
