consolidating part numbers

I'm drawing square shaped tanks which are a 6 part welded assembly. I have modelled them as a box sketch then extruded to the required height and then converted to a sheet metal model. The problem I have run into now, is that when I did the sheet metal conversion it created 6 individual parts. I have labelled the parts so the side have the same part number and the ends have the same part number but when that translates to the automatically generated BOM I still get one of each part instead of 2 of part X, 2 of part Y 1 top and 1 bottom. So my question is, is there a way to change the part properties so the BOM recognises that 2 parts are in fact the same part ie. the sides and the ends of the box.

Hi @rob_field - for the BOM to be accurate you would have to assemble two of the same part in the assembly. When you create multiple parts in a Part Studio they are separate parts with different IDs (even if they have the same assigned Part Number).
