Attaching a hexagonal flat surface to a concave part

Hi team, wondering if anyone can help me with attaching the two parts as in photos below. How can I connect the bottom face of the triangular part to the hexagonal part?

You can move the face of the blue until it is entirely inside the bottom face of the plate. The boolean union them together.

Replace face might work instead, but I'm not sure about the top plate having three faces like that
