    Onshape has great learning tools.  See the Learning Center at https://learn.onshape.com/.

    Step by step: Create a document and in a Part Studio make one part.  Then make another which either is seperate from first part or set the feature to 'New' if the parts are touching.   You have created two parts.

    The software is not hard to learn and if you spend time with the tutorials, you will do fine.

    Parts are just a list of solid bodies in a part studio.

    They are created or destroyed by adding features such as extrude, revolve, loft etc..

    Make sure you have 'new' selected and 'solid' when creating an extrude for example

    @austin_smith234

    YOU ASKED —
    how do I add a part ?

    On top of creating parts, you can also
    ADD parts by bringing them in from other documents

    ALSO

    You can import parts

    To bring In parts from other documents, use DERIVED

    In the GIF below, the part was imported from the McMaster-Carr iPhone app

    Guess I misread question. I thought you were trying to add parts in a part studio. rather than the document.

    If you are in assembly, you can insert by pressing (i) then choosing a part within the same document, or from other documents.
