Custom Hole Feature

H_WangH_Wang Member Posts: 20 ✭✭
The issue I found was for the tapped hole with counterbore, any modification to the bore sizes, it automatically change the hole to "custom" instead of "ISO", which is OK, but that removes the tapped thread. Tapped holes with counterbore is very useful if you are creating tapped hole for shoulder screws!

We are aware of this behavior and I will attach you to the issue.

The hole feature's inadequacy continues to be the one reason we can not migrate our development to the Onshape Platform.  We need pipe threads NPT, BSP BSPP, etc.

We need drill tip angle variables for standard and custom tooling.

+2 on NPT hole specs and callouts.  I'd also like the ability to create custom thread pitches (like 1/4-40).  That's needed for some old thread forms in the model engineering community.  Although we can spec an (Onshape) standard thread pitch for the hole when it is created and then revise the hole callout by editing it manually in a drawing, that's a PITA and prone to error error should one forget to make the revision when the drawing is created or maintained.

I just tried modeling a camera adapter that uses T2 threads (M42 with 0.75 pitch) but manual pitch entries don't seem to be allowed.
