any way to create an object shaped like this with surfaces in onshape?

trying to figure out how to create a shape like this in onshape. 

just the basic shape, not all the twig detals.

was trying to wrap a helix around a sphere, but that doesn't work.

any advise would be greatly appreciated.

The most direct way is to use this featurescript. One of the included examples is actually a spherical helix. With a little parameter tweaking you could make it look like the one from the picture (minus all the twigs). Then copy it via a circular pattern.

You can also do it without featurescript, but it would require splitting a helical swept ribbon surface with a spherical surface.
